Opera Mini is quite different in that it doesn't actually render web pages on your phone. It renders them on a server, and then essentially downloads images to your phone of the webpage, which you can then interact with.
That description is more well suited to describe skyfire, but the concept is very similar.

When you see it "downloading video" at 2 MB/s, it's acutally downloading the video to the server at that rate, then transcoding it to stream to your browser at a much slower rate.
operamini does not stream video at all.

What Webkit on the phone does is completely different, in that it actually renders the page on the phone.
I'm perfectly aware that the PRE's browser is a true browser and operamini isn't

Comparing the two is apples/oranges.
I can't agree, my point of view is that i need the better way to browse the internet, no matter if a page is rendered locally or on a server. What matters is if it works and how it works. And opermini works better (by far better) than a traditional browser in 95% of the situations.

On the remaining 5% I just use another browser, and I just would like to do the same on a PRE.
