It looks like Google maps updates are sometimes included in webOS updates. If this pattern of bi (or even tri) monthly updates continues, I would bet that we'll see updated functionality of Gmaps on the phone.

Google Lat does not work on the Pre but seems to work WITH the pre. I have Google latitude installed on my google homepage, one thing I noticed is that it knows where I am, and its definitely being updated somehow by my Pre. Likely when I sign into Google maps?
