few things i found interesting.
The open source GPL that for all software include. Private Browsing option - /etc/palmos/browser.conf PrivateBrowsing=false YahooContactSyncService, may show up later, I think it only handles email right now, but looks like contacts are on their way. I also located both of the sqlite3 databases. One for the os itself, stores contacts, im convos, and pretty much anything that needs to be stored. There is another that contains all carrier settings. not just for sprint, but for t-mobile and a whole slew of us and international carriers. These are located in /usr/lib/luna I just started looking, so we'll see what else i can find. |

On the Java program front, trying to run some simple commands right now. I doubt it will. Novacomm will only recognize the Pre when it's "off". I'm guessing there is a seperate ROM on the Pre with program code that only recognizes Novacomm just incase the main file system messes up. I'll try later for the hell of it after I get a handle of executing programs. |

$ head -1 ./app/controllers/devmodeswitcher-assistant.js
var LABEL_DEVMODE_ON = $L("Your device is in Developer Mode. You may use Palm Mojo SDK tools to connect to the device"); EDIT: beaten! |

I've pulled some device info on my Pre, seems like there's a port for something (53781, and I think it'll only appear in this NovaComm mode). I'll look into it later once I figure out the NovaComm interface further. That port number is definately something to grep for, though! |

It may be that novacom refers tot he chipset, because searching for "novacom linux" one of the results comes up references a link serial driver. Maybe you need the driver on the computer end and can get a serial connection to the device if you hook it up via USB.
