Default Unable to ping / tracert to Sprint EVDO IP

Wifi is disabled, the phone is in an EVDO service area, and ppp0 is the only interface running.

EVDO IP is verified by loading whatismyip.com on the Pre browser.

Ping to that IP fails.

Tracert to the IP looks like this:

C:\WINDOWS>tracert 174.148.90.15

Tracing route to 174-148-90-15.pools.spcsdns.net [174.148.90.15]

Any ideas? Is Sprint blocking traffic somehow?

I'd like to be able to SSH via the EVDO IP (which also fails, obviously).

You will have to make the SSH daemon listen on the EVDO interface as well as open a iptables hole for it to talk through. Check the Pre dev wiki:
pre dev wiki: Dropbear Install
Under section 4:

4 [Optional] If you want to connect to the pre over EVDO as well as over wifi, do this step. Generally, most seem to think that's a bad idea.
